What is the C-CREC® designation?

The Consumer-Certified Real Estate Consultants (C-CREC) designation is the first
international designation focused on results-oriented skills required by consumers - not
what the real estate industry chooses to deliver to them. More than a decade of
information was gathered directly from consumers via mail, one-on-one interviews,
surveys, home fairs, etc. about the help they need from the real estate professionals as
well as services they felt were redundant or unnecessary.

After sifting through the issues, the results were incorporated into the C-CREC
designation curriculum. Not only is the training a unique departure from other types of
real estate training, it allows the participant to customize the materials to address his/her
                              individual marketplace needs.

NAREC, (The National Association of Real Estate Consultants) is the
parent/sponsor organization of the C-CRECTM designation and will serve as the
advocate and "changemaster" for unbundling the real estate transaction and integrating
                              consulting into the marketplace.

What is the purpose of the designation?  To:

        1) Educate the consultant on what the empowered real estate consumer needs and why s/he needs it.

        2) Translate these needs into a higher level of professional skills foreign to today's business model using the Consumers       Needs Assessment® (CNA®) tool for results-oriented, not service-oriented activities.

        3) Train these skills in an application-based program that provides a certified consultant designation, placing the agent on a par with other professional consultants ( i.e. CPAs, attorneys, etc.)

Designation Requirements

To obtain the C-CREC designation, the student must:

       1) Compete the 14-hour course and pass an exam with a minimum score of 80%

       2) Complete and submit the following post-course work to NAREC Headquarters within six months of completing the course:

                   A. Copies of two completed Consumer' Needs Assessment® (CNA®) forms initialed by the consumer
